Ingredients

Meatballs

  1. 1 lb. of ground chuck (lean)
  2. 1 egg
  3. 3/4 cup of matzoh meal or plain bread crumbs
  4. 2 medium onions chopped fine
  5. Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce

  1. 1/2 cup of ketchup
  2. 1 medium onion chopped coarsely
  3. 1/4 cup of white vinegar
  4. 1/2 to 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  5. At least 6 cups of water


Procedure/Direction:

Combine the meatball ingredients and mix well.

Create the meatballs - any size you prefer - appetizers do look better with smaller meatballs!!

Combine the sauce ingredients in a generous size pot.

Add the meatballs.

Cook at least 1 hour on medium heat so sauce doesn't burn. Add water and/or additional salt, pepper or brown sugar as needed.

Note: You might want to simmer them for a while after the meatballs have fully cooked.
